The lightening flashed and lit up the dark sky for miles and miles as I waited in silence for the thunder.  The reflection off the infinity pool shone wildly with each passing flash, as if posing for life's camera, knowing how beautiful it was.  The trees slowly swayed in the distance,  showing the power of their mighty limbs.

Inside the glass doors, I sat calmly at the kitchen table, admiring the height and openness of the classy, elegant kitchen made for entertaining.  The long, granite bar top with 8 white, leather stools, the 3 dishwashers, the stately, brown cabinets stretching high and the catering bar behind me all tastefully complete in a welcoming fashion.  Nothing overdone but simply perfect and peaceful.

The storm rolled in quickly in stark contrast to when we first arrived to this glorious, gated home that sunny, Spring afternoon.   Admiring the vast farmland on my way here, I was pleasantly surprised when I turned onto the private drive winding up the hill surrounded by black fencing, rolling pastures and beautiful established trees full of life.   Carefully pulling around the circular drive, my heart stopped for one breathless moment as I allowed myself to take in the green, Tennessee hills as far as my eyes could see.  Miles and miles of pristine pastures, horses and lush trees welcomed me with the warm rays of sun and fresh country air.  This is a place I long to stay.  A welcome reprieve from the hectic world beyond the distance.  This is a private sanctuary.

We were honored to list this incredible home, just 15 min from downtown Franklin and 30 minutes outside Nashville.  The finest guests have stayed here and none left lacking for anything but only yearning to stay for even a few minutes longer.  From the private guest suites, each with its own bath, to the workout room with steam shower and sauna, the master suite with private balcony and sitting area and a master closet big enough to be another master suite in itself, nothing has been overlooked.  The grand kitchen, the basketball court in the finished basement, the temperature controlled wine cellar as well as the outdoor kitchen area surrounding the infinity pool are perfectly designed.  From the second floor guest suites, we admired the views from every room.  Walking out on the upstairs balcony, we were highly impressed with the solar panels on the roof making this home energy efficient as well.

Why We Love It

1. Property for the healthy lifestyle. You couldn't pick a prettier setting if you tried.  The hilltop breeds views for miles of nothing but lush green pastures, wildlife, horses and farmland.  No danger of development here!  Take a break from breathing those city fumes and come to relax on Chill Hill.  There are 3.2 miles of hiking trails surrounding this property; however, if inside is where you prefer to sweat, no problem!  Take in the view from your glassed, workout room equipped with a full steam room, shower and wet bar.   If that's not enough for you, no worries...just shoot some hoops in the indoor gym in the basement with 2 basketball goals.  Or just swim laps in the infinity pool.  There's a place for however you prefer to wind up or unwind.

2. Energy Efficient -  This home stands apart as it is built with "green" in mind.  There are solar panels on the roof tied to heating and the water heater, keeping energy costs to a minimum as well as geothermal heating.  There is also two rain water collection tanks concealed in the landscape holding 10,000 gallons each for irrigation.

3.  Built for entertaining - This gorgeous home has one of the best kitchens for entertaining a crowd.  And as we all know...everyone gathers in the kitchen!  No problem with overcrowding in this kitchen, however.   With an expansive island, oversized refridgerator , 3 dishwashers, warming drawer and 3 sinks, you'll have plenty of space for entertaining.  There are also separate trash bins for trash and recycling.  The main kitchen has indoor / outdoor capabilities with a pass through area for parties when the weather is nice.   There are a total of nine refrigerators in this home. There is a catering kitchen area which has its own dishwasher, full sized fridge, ice maker, wine fridge and sink.

In addition, the family room which is open to the eat in kitchen, can be closed off with room dividers and turned into a home theater with a hidden projector in the ceiling and wall-sized projector screen that covers an entire wall.

What You Need To Know

If you like a California, contemporary style in the Tennessee hilltops, you'll love this home.  It is elegant and sophisticated, yet very comfortable and cozy.  It's like the girl who is can put on a red ball gown and steal the show but can just as easily capture your heart in a pair of faded jeans and white tee.  She's everything in one.

When you step onto the wrap around front porch, you can't help but pause to take in your views and privacy.  Step into the front foyer and to your left, you'll find an elegant music room or library, office or living room with a fireplace.  To your right, you'll see a beautiful dining room which connects a butler's pantry /catering kitchen.  There is an elevator in the center of the home which serves all three floors.  The great room is open to the kitchen and there is plenty of natural light throughout.  The large office is also off the kitchen which has built in desks and cabinetry and also a hideaway bed in case you need extra sleeping quarters as well as a full bath nearby.

The main floor also has the large, master suite as well as fitness room.  Upstairs, you'll find 3 bedrooms each with a view and private bath and large closets.   One bedroom could serve as a 2nd master suite if desired with a sitting area, fireplace, private balcony and of course, beautiful views overlooking the pool.

The basement has another bedroom, craft room or office, temperature controlled wine cellar, storm room and half court basketball area.

The infinity pool is private, yet the owners have cleared several trees so you can enjoy the magnificent views.  There is an outdoor kitchen, porches and plenty of space for outdoor entertaining.

The home is energy efficient with 5 HVAC zones, geothermal and solar powered for lower electric and heating bills.  There are 2 10,000 gallon rain water collection tanks concealed in the landscape which serve the irrigation.  The property has all new fencing installed.  All doors in this home are wheel chair accessible as well.

This home is in the small community of Beechwood Plantation and the owners own land on both sides of the private road.  This property is also in the Greenbelt keeping taxes to around $11,000 per year.
